The Furniture Bank

The Furniture Bank provides free, essential household furniture for individuals and families moving out of homelessness, fleeing domestic violence or living with HIV/AIDS.  Since 1988, the Furniture Bank has partnered with homeless shelters and other non-profits in the Atlanta area to serve thousands of families.

Volunteers assist the Furniture Bank in many ways including:

  • help collect furniture donations either with a Furniture Drive or assist on our weekly routes
  • work individually with clients to help them shop and load furniture
  • provide administrative assistance by conducting follow-up calls with clients or performing data entry
  • help with annual events like our art gala and auction
Volunteers are a key part of the Furniture Bank's success.  The Furniture Bank can work with individuals or groups of up to 25 people.  Weekend, evening and off-site opportunities are available.
