The Ervin Academy

The Ervin Academy's mentoring program will match its Mentees with outstanding male role models and leaders in the community who recognize the need for today's teen males to have active male mentors in their lives.

All mentors will receive structured support, coaching, gang prevention/awareness, drug and alcohol awareness, conflict resolution, mentoring and CPR training.

College male mentor requirements:

• 2.8+ overall GPA
• outstanding moral and ethical character
• outstanding leadership and behavior practices
• active participation in at least 1 campus organization
• clear and positive communication skills
• 2 letters of reference
• must pass a criminal background check

Mentor commitment:

• 8 hours face to face contact each month
• weekly telephone contact
• attend quarterly training
• support and guide your mentee
• attend one monthly field trip activity
